Fun Stuff

Grandma Gertie strikes a pose.
I don't know if laughter is the best medicine, but it's definitely my favorite one. I can't imagine life without humor. It's so important to me. I look for inspiration for laughter and I get it from my co-workers, my husband, my friends, SNL, Will Farrell and sometimes myself. You can't take yourself too seriously. I especially makes sure I don't when Halloween rolls around.
A character that came to life when I was just getting to know my now husband was cave woman (see photo below). He married me anyway. It was a test and he passed!
Several years ago, I developed the Grandma Gertie character, a southern concoction who came complete with warm Moon Pies (they were her in her pocket all day), peppermint sticks and a brag book of her "granbabies."
In 2010, I took a whole new direction. I'd never done the scary route before. I just couldn't resist the parasitic friend when I saw him. We grew very close.
I will admit that I'm incredibly jealous of the cast of the The Office and Parks and Recreation. They are having way too much fun. Thank goodness for corporations that allow their employees to cut loose a little - even if it's just one day a year!
